I gave this board a three star for several reasons.

Let’s start with the good about this board first. It is relatively one of the cheapest boards you will find and aesthetically it’s actually pretty pleasing. It’s a B650 series so it’s expected from this board to not have anything too fancy about it. I don’t mind the BIOS and it’s pretty user friendly.

Now let’s break down some of the bad. First off, you get what you pay for. BUYERS BEWARE DOES NOT HAVE BUILT IN WIFI LIKE OTHER MOTHERBOARDS. Couldn’t figure it out because it advertises that it does but looking at other reviews and comments from people that have this they deal with the same issue. Apparently there’s an adapter to buy to get wifi but I have not looked into it because I hard wired

Like I said, this board is nothing fancy. So it’s very bland and no ARGB functionality. There’s only 2 spots for M.2 SSDs and the second one doesn’t come with a heat sink. The bios came extremely outdated with the board and I didn’t really figure out I needed to flash it till later on down the road when the PC was experiencing some issues. No big deal but it requires some work with a USB flash drive and inserting it into the correct USB slot on the MB. Keep in mind, regardless if the bios is outdated and you flash it, I still got problems when I upgraded my CPU so there could be potential compatibility issues between the board and the CPU so just check what part picker says about it.

The I/O shield does not come already attached to the board so keep that in mind as well. I feel that the temps were a little high and it could be a result of the VRMs on this board with not enough heat sinks. I had also experienced some BSODs where the PC crashes and reboots when loading games after 2 years. I tried everything under the sun to troubleshoot all the parts and finally realized that there could potentially be a bent pin in the socket. Extremely hard to tell. I sent it to ASUS for an RMA and when they sent it back to me, they confirmed my suspicion and fixed it. That could’ve been user error on my part but I’ve owned MSI MBs and have never had so many issues in comparison to ASUS. Just not a huge fan.

I would get the board only if you are really on a tight budget and don’t want to spend too much money on your board but if you can, I’d allocate more funds to get a much better motherboard like their ROG Strix boards or go with another brand like MSI. I will be using this refurbished board now for this very budget friendly PC project.

Amazing for the price. Internet does not work! I plug in the antenna, nothing! I was aware of this issue before I bought it and I use ethernet to plug my PC into a node, anyways, so it's not a big deal for me.

A motherboard is a motherboard; this one feels well-built for the price point. Extra m.2 spot is appreciated for future storage expansion.

Great motherboard. BIOS is easy to maneuver, and it's really all I need.
